Baby Cardigan Top Pattern

Baby Cardigan Top.

Easy crochet.

Sizes:
To fit chest, 16  ins. Length from top of shoulder, 8 ins.
Sleeve seam, 3 ins.

Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
tr = treble
sl st = slip stitch
dc = double crochet (or single crochet).

Instructions:

Back:
Using main shade, make 38 ch.
1st Row: 1 tr. into 4th ch from hook. 1 tr in each remaining ch. 3 ch, turn. (3 ch count as first tr on each row). 36 tr.
2nd Row: 1 tr in each tr. 3 ch, turn. Repeat 2nd row 8 times.

Shape for sleeves:
Next Row: Make ch 16. turn, 1 tr in 4th ch from hook. 1 tr in each remaining ch. (14 more tr).
Now work across 36 tr of back. Using a separate length of wool, make 14 ch from base of tr just worked. Now work 1 tr in each of the 14 ch. (64 tr).
Work 4 more rows of these 64 tr.

Shape neck:
1st Row:
Work across 25 tr, turn. Work 4 more rows on 25 tr.
Next Row: Make 9 ch, 1 tr in 4th tr from hook. 1 tr in each remaining ch. (7 more tr, now work across 25 tr, 32 tr).
Work 4 more rows on 32 tr.
Next Row: sl st across 14 tr, to end, (18 tr remaining)
Work 9 more rows on these 18 tr. Fasten off. Return to stitches left for other side.
1st Row: Miss centre 14 tr. 1 tr in each tr to end. (25 tr). Work 4 more rows on these 25 tr.
Next Row: Work across 25 tr, using a separate length of wool to make 7 ch from base of tr just worked. Now work 1 tr in each ch to end. (32 tr).
Work 4 more rows on 32 tr.
Next Row: Pattern 18 tr, turn. Work 9 more rows on 18 tr. Fasten off.

To Make up:
Press carefully. Sew up side and sleeve seams.

Edging:
Using different colour wool, with right side of work facing and commencing at right side seam, work 1 row of dc all round edge of cardigan.
Sleeve edging: Work the 2 rows as given for coat edging.

Picot around the edges.


Pensive Petal Crochet

I love crochet, I find it much easier to do than knit! Here are some items I have made. Will link to the patterns if they are available.

Blankey:
No pattern for this one, it's just basically three treble, going round and round. Three treble, three chain, three treble for the corners.

This one was made by just making rows and rows of treble, with different coloured yarn.

Jackson's queen sized blanket:
Chevron pattern using different coloured yarn. Try you tube for instructions on chevron stitch.

As you can probably tell, I enjoy making blankets!

White baby blanket:
Made this one using single crochet stitches.

Mixed stitches baby boy blanket:
Made this one by doing all sorts of different stitches in different colours and textures of wool.

Circle rug:
Had to use a huge crochet hook as the wool was too thick! Just used treble stitches in the round.

I loved making these squares! And they look so pretty. I don't enjoy stitching them together so much though!
